Hi Steve,

Did CPQ give you just a bare recovery disk? No COA included with it? You could be in deep doodoo. Double check in the box. Our last Compaqs were of the 2200 series and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Anyhow, try http://askq.compaq.com/askpresario/form.asp and give them the serial number of the box. They should email you the COA serial. HTH.

>Here's my prob. My sister bought a used Compaq 4706 PC with no software or docs. Her hard drive died. I replaced it for her, but had to order and install Compaq QuickRestore kit. I am in the middle of QuickRestore and Windows 95 want Certificate of Authenticity number. What do I do?

I sent them an e-mail with this question, but got a reply back that I message went to their webmaster because it crashed. I called the number where I ordered the Restore kit, but they gave me the tech support 800 number.
