Hi again Steve,

Well, this time it took another 23 minutes, but now I have a 2200 series desktop with 3 COA numbers - ALL DIFFERENT. Now one has to ask with which I might rebuild this PC. The original with the paper COA, or the 2 email issued. Am I violating my EULA or is Compaq violating their distribution agreement with Microsoft? Who knows?

Exactly. The QuickRecovery is very specific to the hardware configuration as shipped. Also the loaded software configuration could vary from machine to machine.
