Della, most of the problems deal with security type issues.
I had to create an entry in the hosts file to resolve the server
name and mark the entry as a trusted site. That is ok since I have
a closed environment (I can require that all users use IE and
Excel 2000 Premium with OWC) but seems a bit odd (having to have
a trustd site entry that is).
Now I can see the data via http while on the local network but my
remote users still can not. Does this have something to do with
the IUSR_machinename security? Not sure but I will look at it.
Looks like the Enterprise edition of Analysis Services is also required
to make the OLAP stuff web enabled.
>>I have been working with SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services (called OLAP Services in SQL Server 7) to create OLAP cubes from both VFP and Oracle data. I can create the cubes but need some advice on how to post the results of the cubes to the internet. My end-users are 1,000 miles away so it is imperative that I give them the ability to review the reports on-line over the web.

>For that, you may want to repost the question with a title of "OLAP services on the web" or something similar.

>>I was leaning toward using the Excel 2000 Pivottable list that is part of the Office web components. However, I am having some difficulties getting it all to work properly.

>What, in particular, is giving you fits with Excel 2000 PivotTables? I've done some work with them, and I haven't had too much trouble (but, I haven't tried to make them do something they weren't designed to do -- yet!). Perhaps I can help there.
