>Who is "we"? I'm not familiar with the poll you are refering to, but I am familiar with the Chrisitan literature at the time and it was warning against Jim Jones and his cult. So were in depth news pieces at the time. Calling the Jones cult a 'leading Christian sect' is a total distortion of the facts. At its height the group never had more than a few thousand followers, and less than 1,000 followed him to his jungle 'paradise'. That certainly is not 'leading".

I assume the situation is very similar, between Christians and Muslims. In the news, they frequently point out that the war is not against muslims in general, but against the terrorists. And that probably most muslims don't agree with the extreme tactics of the terrorists.

I believe that neither the cult leaders mentioned - or the inciters of the crusades, a few centuries ago - were "true Christians", nor the members of Al Qaeda - or other muslim extremists - are "true Muslims".

Hilmar.
