We wanted to confirm we can get the process to work before releasing the actual COM's on the server and even they have small file names.

What access rights did you give the EXE? Try setting it for all permissions to see if it will instantiate at all. If it does, selectively decrease access permissions you don't wnat to grant.

Just for peace of mind, the COM server does work locally, right?
