Hello All,

I am using FTP to exchange data between multiple sites via a private IP host. When instructed to connect to the IP host, the FTP control automatically initiates an internet session if one is not already in progress, otherwise it uses the active session. How it makes that determination and does it is hidden.

My problem is that at sites using a firewall, the FTP control will not communicate, even if a fully authenticated internet session is already in progress.

My question is: Is there a way of exposing the properties of the active internet session, so that I can determine if a firewall (proxy server?) is in use and what type it is? This would then enable me to invoke the required additional authentication and initialise the firewall properties on the FTP control.

Any pointers towards a solution would be very helpful.

Thank You,

Herb Ellerbock
