>>>Great suggestion. It's been needed for sometime. Currently, you have to find a message from/to that user or do a search to find them. Both can be inconvenient.

>>Sure, it is more convenient when UT knows itself who do you want to send message to. :) But if it does not, then you have to find the user anyway. After the user is found there is a "Send the Private Message" link. My understanding is that the proposed toolbar link to Send the Private Message would not really shorten this process as you still need to find the user.

Will not really work as there are many people with the same names, for example:
48. David Smith 024738 Visual Development Studio United Kingdom, Chelmsford
49. David Smith 032868 Mohawk Industries United States, Calhoun, Georgia
50. David Smith 034887 United Kingdom, London
51. David Smith 037179 Samara Computer Services United Kingdom, Chelmsford
52. David Smith 037851 Corpdata Limited United Kingdom, Teignmouth
I can only guess if
48. David Smith 024738 Visual Development Studio United Kingdom, Chelmsford
51. David Smith 037179 Samara Computer Services United Kingdom, Chelmsford
is the same person. You will need the additional checks anyway. All you can save here is one mouse click (with a lot of overhead).
