Hi, (I bet Jerry will know)

Ok. I have download all the lastest postgresql files and I can get the database engine to run if I start it from a terminal window.

I downloaded all the Zeos files to access the postgres database for Kylix.

In the install doc's I think I understand most of it but the last part which is:

Compile and install dpk files in the next sequence:
ZCommonK,ZDbwareK, ZPgSqlK

What does that mean?

In general I'm not real sure I have followed the doc.
I placed the dbdesign and std 'dcp' into the lib of kylix
I didn't do anything to the Zeos.inc doc because it appears to default to English and I don't know what to change regarding max quantity etc
I added the path to the XXX\common in the setup of Kylix
I changed the path in ZlibpgSql.pas of libpq.so to /usr/lib/libpq.so

So I think if understood the last instruction I would be on my way to database programming.
