You are obviously aware that Ken deals with this sort of situation, you also know exactly what information he needs in order to help you, and I would like to think that you do know how to reach him directly.

Now, what is the point of posting the message you posted?

I'm just guessing here:

- You're out of answers for your company. You should then try to be agreeable, get the beta version of .net and let them know that in 3-5 years, something usable will be ready.

- You're trying to see who in the UT is in which camp ("vfp's dying, let's move on" or "vfp's alive, let's kick ass")?

- You're tired of reading the pointless debate between Jerry, Doug, and Len about whether to nuke the terrorists or not.

To you or anyone else in the same boat, it is POINTLESS for us to debate on this issue. Microsoft knows too well where we stand.

If you're afraid that vfp8 might be the last version AND that that might affect your near future, then, by all means, start learning a new tool.

For the record, I still maintain several clipper applications (yeah, as in "DOS" applications) and it's been about 8 years since both DOS and Clipper supposedly died.
