I have removed all objects from my label except a memo called NOTES. It does not stretch although set to do so. Ive emailed a copy of a simple data file with one memo (NOTES) together with the offending report in case you have time to check this.

I think it's a bug in the Report Writer. It doesn't change back all settings in the report when you switch Print Order from Left-rigt to top-bottom order. To fix it open your report as a table and reset values in field 'plain' to .f. for band records
Use notestest.frx
replace all for objtype = 9 plain with .f.
