Bret,

>It worked. As soon as I can find a sysadmin, I'll discuss it with him. Can you help me understand what we just did? My temp folder was indeed marked as a system folder, and the check box was disabled. I don't think I have admin rights on my machine. Typing the command in the DOS window gave no error, however, and now I can create forms. Also, the "system" check box, still disabled, is unchecked. That makes it sound as if the DOS prompt let me get around my lack of permissions. We are using Win NT 4 SP4. What is a "system" directory?

The system attribute is normally associated with a file required by the operating system. Naturally, you normally wouldn't want to change the system attribute of a file - hence the reason the checkbox is disabled.

However, I've seen the temporary directory being marked as system on at least two occasions. I can't figure out how it happened, but I suspect either an NT Service Pack or a new version of Internet Explorer.

Best.

Matt.
