Hi Jim,

Well, that did the trick. I shut down Zipmagic so it would not activate when rebooting my computer, and the installation proceeded flawlessly. Initially, I tried shutting it down without rebooting, but that did not solve the problem. Apparently, the computer needs to be rebooted with ZipMagic turned off, or else the folders remain in a format that confuses the VFP setup.

I'm still kind of puzzled however. I never had a problem with ZipMagic in the past, and I've had it installed and active during many previous installations. I'm just wondering if maybe there is something going on between my virus protector and ZipMagic. I've updated my virus protector recently, and I'm thinking that the virus protector is misinterpreting the zip file as a virus attempting to download/install on to my drive. Well, it's no big deal regardless, since I can just turn off ZipMagic.

Jim, thank you for your help!

Dave

>ZipMagic is a product that lets .zip file look just like regular files on the system - you can use regular old Explorer to do most anything without unzipping first.

>>Hello everyone,
>>
>>I'm having a problem when I try to rerun my VFP 6.0 installation. For some reason, I receive the following message: "Setup Could Not Open The File M:\VFP98\TOOLS\XSOURCE\XSOURCE.ZIP" I receive the same message for "M:\VFP98\TOOLS\XSOURCE\SOLNHLP.ZIP". M is my CD-ROM drive. I was presented with the option to either abort, retry, or ignore. Well, retry did nothing, so I was forced to select ignore.
>>
>>I don't recall having this problem when I initially installed VFP nor later on when I performed reruns of the installation (to add components or restore settings). I deleted the XSource folder to my recycle bin, to see if VFP would reinstall it, but it did not.

>>Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, why is this happening?

>>Thanks for any help!
