Well, Calvin, I did say that I have a feeling about it/them.

I have searched UT for messages relating to W95 and locking, because I remember some along while ago. Regardless, the words I used for the search come up dry.

Maybe someone else will be good enough to chime in, because I do think there are likely issues with transactions and peer-to-peer, W95 specifically but any generally.

Others have told you that the file system is stable, and I agree with them. ESPECIALLY as relates to same stuff done as in FPD/FPW. And I also think that transactions serve people well when they use a file server for storage. Problems that I recollect in this regard virtually all have to do with lock counts exceeding specified values which are adjustable on such servers.

It would have been better if your original post had mentioned transactions. My guess is that by now people see the first replies and see no further need to add their similar experience.opinion. Maybe a new thread asking the specific question will be most productive here.

Cheers,

Jim

>Jim, if in fact transactions are as you say 'dicey' on peer to peer networks, this is an issue that needs to be discussed on the UT. I have seen nothing to this effect in writing anywhere. Please give more information if you can. Thanks!
