Hi Mark,

Thanks for your suggestions - I appreciate you assistance. We tried your suggestions (and a few others) and finally just decided to use regedit, find the registry entry - and delete it. We then ran the install package and it worked OK.

Maybe there's an issue where if you don't include the necessary merge modules - especially the VC++7 one - that InstallShield doesn't 'register' the install properly ...

All I know is that the product did not show-up in the Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs list so I wasn't able remove it 'gracefully' and had to resort to hacking the registry.

Also, since you mentioned this, in the General tab of InstallShield Express, when building the first install (the one without VC++7) we did not disable the Change, Remove and Repair settings - and still had to resort to removing the registry entry manually.

You might create an install package the way it originally was -- without the VC runtime file -- or even better the origianl SETUP.EXE on the CD to see if you can get the REMOVE option by running that setup again.
