It looks like you have enough advice on how to back up your opinion, one which I agree with. I've never used RV's. In fact, I'm currently working on converting a VFP app's back end to SQL Server. The application uses local views and I'm still going to use SPT.
But I don't understand why you (the client) must convince the consultants (your vendor) to use SPT. Make them convince you that RV's are the way to go. Also, I'ld be concerned with their experience with C/S apps. Even if you convince them to use SPT it doesn't mean they'll use it efficiently!
