Tom,

>Questioning a consultant can find displeasure with the company you work for. After all you are in effect questioning your companies ability to make “business decisions”. Politics is all a part of the game. It does not matter how “right” you are – just how you play the game.

It would be more displeasurable if he doesn't question the consultants advice and the application conversion is less than acceptable. Especially if Fred is known as a person who has some insite on this topic.

As an employee, I would want my company to receive the best product possible for the benefit of the company. In fact, if I did any less, then I am not an asset to the company. Politics is definately part of the game. But politics is not necessarily a dirty word. It simply implies you have to use some tact to get your message across and let your boss know you're reaaly looking out for the company.

It sounds like Fred IS questioning the consultants' advice, otherwise he wouldn't be looking for information to back up his opinion.

But we do not know the reason why the consultants suggested RV's. It may be cost driven. If the application is already using local views then migrating to a C/S architecture using RVs may be the most inexpensive way to get there. It's fun to debate though!
