It follows the same random pattern above. I know its the network denying access to the files but why?

Since it works sometimes, I'm assuming you have all the right code in place. Have you tried the FLUSH command. I'm a FP 2.6 type, so I'm assuming that this command to flush network buffers is still in existance.
