Steve,

I'm not too sure what the exact purpose of your post is/was. I think it is time to jump in here and clarify a few items.

First and foremost: DataClas both VFP and COM are MY designs. I came up with the methodology for DataClas and was the SOLE developer on the VFP version. The VFP version was marketed and sold by Takenote until very recently. At this time the VFP version is being marketed and sold by Red Matrix which I am a 50% owner with Jim Duffy.

As for the COM version of dataclas. We (Red Matrix) had John develop the initial version using Visual Basic as our code base. Once again I was the principal designer with input coming from John and Jim. I am now the sole developer of the DataClas/COM codebase. John has a royalty arrangement with Red Matrix, which is a entitles him to a percentage of sales of the product.

So your guess about original developers no longer being invoved is incorrect. We are still involved and will remain involved. Actually, we use dataclas in all of ouf client/server applications, so we have a vested interest in growing the functionalty of the product.

As for John suing us for the product being successful then I guess you are wrong here as well. First John would have no grounds for suit, unless we didn't pay him according to our royalty agreement.

I live by a philosphy that I learned from a CEO of a resort I worked at. His licence plate on his car read ADIAD. I asked about the meaning of this licence plate. He said it stands for: A Deal Is A Deal. That is how I live my life and how I believe John lives his.

Second John has more integrity than most people I know. He stands up for what he believes, sometimes to his own detriment, but he is willing to take a stand.

Also, I do believe that John did disclose that he has an interest in dataclas in this thread. So I don't know how you continue to rally on about non-disclosure of interests. If he did disclose his interest then why cant you let that issue go.

>>All I know is what I know from the three of you in the past.

From this comment I will give you the benifit of the doubt that you were misinformed. Sometimes I lay low and don't speak up about the things I have done or work on. I hope this message clears things up.

I am replying to you message in public because that is where the origins of this message originated. I would recommend that we take this discussion off line. I don't think that this thread has any real relevance to the discussions on this board.

Thanks
