What do you mean by checkout a project? We always keep our shared project checked out all the time. The parts of the project (prg, forms, etc.) are the only ones we checkout for modifications and then check them back in afterwards. We have multiple checkouts enabled for the project files.

Maybe when you checkout the project, that is when it looses the settings for the application icon.
