If you are using VFP's report writer, then position your fields on the letter and click on the field properties and select Stretch with overflow, if free text follows this then you can simply add a field with the expression +"Free Text goes here." This will ensure that if the field shrinks the text following it will follow it, alternatively if a lot of text follows the field name store the free text to a variable and then do the same +. Again this will ensure that text that shrinks and grows moves with the contents of the field.
