It does say it "needs Windows to run", but it probably doesn't say "you must buy Windows to run this". Though, I wouldn't be surprised if it would say so once.

Yea, good ol' logic... that MS can take care of with the stroke of a pen. Adding something like "Must be run on a MS Windows OS." is all that it would take in the license agreement, and I'd bet they'd get away with it too.

I don't remember them doing that with OS2, but then they had other tricks up their sleeves to take care of that distraction.

Updated: I should have said that I agree fully with your original issue.
