>I have a strange problem I believe is related to a network problem. We have a W2K Server on which a VFP6 app resides (exe and data). Our network is running TCP/IP and consists of W98 and W2000 workstations. This app is normally accessed mostly by the W2K workstation but secondly by a W98 machine. We noticed records having descriptions changed to other records. The strange thing is that the problem always happens from the W2K machine, if you follow the exact same keystrokes from a Win98 machine, nothing bad happens.

(Using explorer you can see the file is there and from the server you can see the W2K machine has READ/WRITE access of this file. Now sometimes if the Win 98 machine is running the app you get a DBC Extensions error if you try to run it directly from the server. If you exit the app on the W98 machine, and look on the server it still shows that the file is read/write and accessed. It isn't! I know something is wierd - I haven't a clue as to why. Can anyone help??

This sounds like USER RIGHTS being different for each Workstation, rather than OS.

Are you logging into each when testing?
