Just because you can buy .NET Servers today (purely a marketing term, since there is not much having to do with the .NET Framework in them yet), does not mean that .NET is released. It's the .NET Framework and everything built on top of it that makes up the core of what is called .NET.

Let's see what we have...
.NET Servers marketing phrase being used for released products. -- yes
.NET Framework, including CLR and 1000's of .NET framework classes -- in beta still
Visual Studio.NET -- still in beta
ASP.NET -- still in beta
Servers with .NET Framework built-in -- not yet

You're just playing word games here by saying .NET was released some time ago. I get your point, but it's a very weak one. :-)
