>> We' been running FPW2.6a for years. Follow Al Doman's advice. We've run every OS to XP and haven't had a single problem except that the DOS Start /wait command in Win2K operates differently. Heck, We're still running Netware 3.11! Nary a problem.<<

The well know KB fix for windows ME, for example, using PerVMFile= in the ini file doesn't work for FPW, as they now acknowledge, and as far as I know the ME fix promised has not yet been issued by MS.

Sorry Charles,
At this company I've never had to open more than 15 files in FPW 2.6. I have opened as many as 25 in VFP3 & 5. So I can't help you there. Maybe somone else who's lurking? (hint).
We've gotten VFP7, but because of a problem with the Novell client, most of the workstations can't run it. I don't think anyone here has opened more than 5 files at once in it.
Wish I was more of a help.
