All the examples you've cited rquire that somebody actually puts that data out and does so at very reasonable cost. So lets say some companies actually do (doubt it - too specialized of a market with data that's really too trivial to be worth much) this. Now we have thousands of companies providing Web Services. How's a cell phone gonna find the one you want? And be able to talk to it given that the data likely is going to need some formatting parsing etc. so that it's useful in the context provided. And charge you for it, and, and...

Look at how this works today. You can get most of that info off the Web already I suppose and most of us here probably spend a good time of our day in front of the computer as it is. How much of this functionality do you actually use even though now most of it is free? Do you really think the only reason is because it's not quite easy enough to use? No, I think it's because a lot of these things are plain silly. If you wanna know what the weather is like - look outside, man! You know it's snowing when half your roof is sliding off the building...

Technically I suppose it's possible - I'm just looking at this and look at it as total geek overload.

Did we forget somewhere that we're still people, people??? Maybe I'm old fashioned but I don't want to be in touch every second of my life. I want to get away and be, you know by myself...
