This is perhaps the best articulated opinion I have seen on this issue. You recognize the past strengths of VFP and at the same time, see what .Net has to offer. I was not an early advocate of .Net. Today, that is not the case. .Net *is* the future. 2 days at the MVP summit has made this quite clear. Take a look at ADO .Net and datasets. With just a little imagination, you can see a local data scheme much like VFP. As for your comments regarding the object model, I entirely agree with your assessment.
You can probably guess where I will be focusing my time and energy. It rhymes with .Net...< bg >....
