Today, that is not the case. .Net *is* the future. 2 days at the MVP summit has made this quite clear. Take a look at ADO .Net and datasets. With just a little imagination, you can see a local data scheme much like VFP. As for your comments regarding the object model, I entirely agree with your assessment.
