Craig;

All is not lost! I just got back on last night. However, needless to say my web site is history. In fact the tools given to create your web site were not working. Perhaps too many people trying to get re connected and not enough attention to how well the new web pages work.

Just a hint in case you did not know: To establish a new connection with the central office, disconnect the power cord to your cable modem and wait at least 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on and wait for it to attempt to make a connection. If it goes through all the motions correctly you will get a connection and be brought to the new AT&T web page. You will then be able to change your computer settings by either downloading and saving a file or directly from the web (your choice). It went smoothly for me and I read the new service agreement very closely. The home.com part of your e-mail addresses will change to attbi.com.

Hope you get reconnected soon.

Tom

>Well, I definately found out. I returned home from the MVP summit last night to find that I have no service. I'm told it will be about a week before AT&T has any service for me. In the meantime, I've established a dialup account with a local provider.

>>It is interesting to note that this began on September 28. AT&T took about seven weeks to inform us. Today they will be in court in San Francisco and we may soon know more. Last night the TV News stated Excite.com was $1 Billion in debt. Not a problem as those are only zeros and commas with a number one. :) See this link if you are interested:

>>>>Well, if you have this service you must have received an e-mail over the weekend. Their IP Excite.com has filed for chapter 11. Those of us with this service have been instructed to check our e-mail daily. We have been given a URL to keep us updated. So if Excite.com pulls the plug or the PG&E pulls the power, we will be without service. The Internet can be such fun!

>>>In my case, that's my best choice. AT&T@Home is the only high speed service available at my house other than ISDN and Qworst charges an outragous amount for it.
