>I guess their service area is larger than I thought. My mother is located in Grand Junction, CO and has the same problem. 2 days to 2 weeks downtime they think. The funny/frustrating part is that I have cablemodem here in NC with TimeWarner Cable and Road Runner and we had just started using our webcams the day before!

Tracy;

Another interesting thing is that I have seen more AT&T Wideband Commercials on television during the last week than in the last year! I guess it pays to advertise! Even when the service was down (goodbye Excite.com) they were merrily telling prospective new customers what a great thing AT&T Wideband is. Gee, and I was sitting there without an IP but do have a bill from AT&T for my trouble. The phone call I received on Saturday morning said they would credit my account with two days for every day I did not have connectivity. This effects about 4 million users so it will take some time before the smoke clears.

By the way the original downtime extimate was 50 hours maximum. Now I would like to know if AT&T is our IP or if they farmed out a sub contract to someone like Excite.com?

To be $1 Billion in debt, Excite must have done something wrong! :) I would bet that top management did not suffer!
