Does "Offset 280" mean the 280th >character in the file, the 280th byte of the file... what? 280th byte, you're right. When I was playing with generating a .rtf file, I've written a routine which read the help compiler's log and caught the line where the error was, so it would have found this 280 number. Then it would Modify File help.rtf range 280,281 ....and place you in the Fox's editor right on the spot. I'm not sure if I still have the routine, but wouldn't be hard to write it again.
