Jess, a lot of what you're hearing in regards to .NET in my opinion is FUD from Microsoft. Look at all the articles about .NET might be a failure or that VB'rs don't like it or whatever. To be sure, .NET will gradually make inroads, but, it's not a sure thing and it will be slow - it usually is when radical change is involved...
I would advise you to use your VFP knowledge to work with .NET where possible. Good uses include using VFP mtdlls to interact with Web Services in .NET or calling VFP mtdlls from ASP.NET(using C# or VB.NET). As I've been saying, more than likely, .NET won't have many of the capabilites that VFP has had for some time now(at least initially and maybe never). Why not use them together. You get to learn new tools and you can show the world that VFP can shine right along side .NET.

>Difficulties in learning a new language is just a secondary factor to us programmers. It's the availability of time. In a developing countries like us, we don't have our own computers at home. We rely on computers in the office. And while in the office, we stick to project completions. Well, it's not the fault of MS, it's the fault of our economy. :)))))
