Yes - the whole system is a union operation. We have about 30 km of dual rail 20 stations and about 150 vehicles.
The vehicles are not only driverless but there are no moving parts to the motors!! I know --- that solves the driverless part! boom boom!
Seriously though, the vehicles are very interesting - they use linear induction motors, have steerable trucks and no driver. We get people from all over the world (including BART) coming to look at it and , you are right, most of them say "Wow, if only we could do something like this back home..."
We have a system availability of about 99.5% and on time performance in the high 90s as well. We carry about 3.5 million passengers a month and cover 100% of our operating costs through the farebox. And we are expanding...
