I wonder if the fact that I have version 4.72.3110.6 of Shell32.dll if that could be the reason it is acting differently. If so, is it possible to update that file? If it can be updated, what are the distribution issues with relation to compatibility, copyright, licensing, etc.? Can the Shell32.dll from an even newer machine (from WinME for example) be distributed (copied) onto the Win98 box without causing any issues? (Man, I'm full of questions tonight!) lol

What are your thoughts?
