>I'm using ODBC to connect to a DB2 database on an AS/400. One of the fields in the remote table is a BLOB (or CLOB or something like that). Anyway, it's supposedly akin to a memo field in Fox. The SQL select works fine if the number of bytes in the BLOB field <= 4096. If I try to Select with the BLOB field containing >= 4097 bytes I get the "not enough memory for file map" error.

Try with a general field. See faq#7995 (hope number is right). It's about Oracle (same in SQL server) but I expect to apply here too.
