I am using a mapi client to send email from our application. In my call send parameters assigning the subject, recipient(s), message, and attachment(s). The first two paramters are username and password. The documentation says that if no username is given then the default username and profile are used. Right now I am not sending parameter 1 and 2 and it works on my work station just fine. My question is, I have a password on my mail client and the function sends mail without asking for a password, when do I need to furnish the password? If I change username to other than the default or what?

I intend to put this out on at a user site on a server that will notify specified users when an event occurs.
