>I am in the process of setting up a web connected VFP application.

By Web Connected, (that usually means HTML / WEB Interface. ) is that what you mean, or are you talking about an application which will use the internet as your network, sharing files over the internet ?

Depending on factors like securiy issues, VPN needs firewall, speed of the client machines internet connections and so on, there are options to enable this type of application.

Terminal Server / Citrix might be a good choice for this sort of off site application. Or porting it to a sql server backend and using VFP for a front end, might also be something to consider.

Just a few thoughts to get you going,
Bob Lee

I will be running a VFP fat client on each work station. I will be using a file server for the VFP data and a Win 2000 server for the comm objects. The file server(novell box) will be connected to the Win2000 via mapped drives (Unless theres a better way). This will be accessed by people from accross the US and eventually other countries. It is a closed app.(Meaning only the employees of the company will access it). I need a consultant who can tell me how to size the server and tweek it to make it as reliable as possible. And any other things I may need to know that I don't. (Which at this time is a lot.)
In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
