What I mean is that the barcode, for example, gets replaced by invalid characters, usually indicating that some corruption have occurred. If I catch the corruption on the record and if I can make out what the old value was, I manually restore the value. When I cannot make out what it was, I just delete the record. But that should not be. The record is significant and I wish to restore it to its original state by removing the corruption--replacing the invalid chars with spaces renders the information wrong.
