See, same story I went through a few years ago. One of my task was to write case studies to justify new tools in the company. Basically, tools that does the job and I mean "Does the job!". ;) For example, Visual FoxPro was not approved. I however used it to build prototypes in a few hours where the estimated time for someone else used to work with another tool would have been weeks. Of course, that couldn't be mentioned at presentation time. But, it does represent very well a problem with some companies.
