>>That's why I suggested a new Catagory specifically for Employment. Then it has a place and no one can complain that those messages shouldn't be there. Also, people who are annoyed can filter out that catagory.

>That will just duplicate actual entries in Jobs and may lower its potential.

I look at it this way. The jobs section contains detailed information about available positions. It also holds a list of just job openings, nothing else. Some one who has added a job to the archive, could post in the employment forum. "Hey, just added an available job, go check it out." I see the message and say to myself "Hey, cool, I 'll go check that job out". I may not even be looking for work and not regulary checking the jobs section.

The "Employment" catagory would just be a place for users to talk about employment, share insights into job searching, look for support from the community, let the community know they are looking, share the misery of not finding the perfect job, etc...

>>I agree with the archives, that's a great place for job listings and also the problems with duplicate data. I think the point is that an employer would want to notify the community that a new job was posted. Maybe a way to subscribe to that archive area or something that post to the dashboard (which is a great addition btw).

>From what I read, I seem to understand that you think that the job section is not visible to employers.

I know it's visible to everyone. The problem is I'm looking for a job. Today I forgot to check "available jobs" to see if anything new was posted. I could have missed a post and somebody else gets the job. I would just like some way to be notified everytime a new job is posted.

>>You lost me. Both locations? There isn't a specific location for employment related messages now?

>The job section can be accessed from the main page using the Jobs icon or directly from here with the upper listbox.

Ah. I was talking about messages, not the Jobs archive.

>>Why is that spam? I'm just looking for a job. I'm not selling anything.
>
>Spam does not necessary mean selling. I got 3 more spams today about people who are looking for job. I never requested any nor did I submit an availability for one. So, that was spam. And, that is extremly frustrated.

Sure, unsolicted email sent directly to you is spam. I'm just talking about a specific message area dedicated to employment that the whole UT member base can use and be involved in. Which is worse, me posting that I'm looking for a job in the forum, or me sending email and privates to every UT member in the state of Florida?
