Hey Alex

Wow you went out of my leauge, macros and VBA, I just want the data exported the column widths and colors are not a big issue with me. I do thank you for the options.

3 other questions
how do start the macro recorder?

don't a lot of people think macros are bad (in general) cause of macro viruses??

what does VBA stand for? Visual Basics A?????

>>Part of the prob was I was unsure about what I wanted the data outputted to look like, I just knew I didn't like the "flat file" look

>OK. So what you do is a mockup of some sample data in Excel itself. Start the macro recorder and type away, format cells, widths, colors, whatever you want it to look like. Then open the created file using the VBA editor (ALT-F11). VBA is very easy to read and translate to VFP automation code.
