hmmm...I understand, and I suppose I'm glad I have version 4 of the writer. However, I would still expect the west-wind class to create the .pdf file directly.

Have you looked the PDF Creator available at www.amyuni.com? If you are looking to distribute your solution, it is a *whole* lot cheaper, and I think many people around here have used it with success.
