Yes, we had the same situation too. They invested money (IMF) in corruption politicizes (they hoped for broken USSR). And they waiting were justify - now we have not communists nightmare in Russia, but we have Mafia's nightmare now. I don't know what is better... -)
But I hope (used your experience) all will be good in the future, may be after 30 years, because Russian mafia are started investments into local business in Russia...
