Netscape may be doing something hokey on load, I know that the older versions used DDE to coordinate with any previously running instances. Another thing is that in Mozilla, the menus and frames are actually coded in JavaScript (see the .js files.) I think that at 0.9.5 they greatly enhanced the JavaScript interpreter performance.
