Is there a quick way to convert text data in cells to numeric? or How do I make a cell NULL? The spreadsheet gets created with a VFP COPY TO ...XLS command. Currently the fields in question are Character data types in VFP so they COPY TO EXCEL as text. I did this because the client wants empty cells (NULL) when there is no data and zeros when it is a legitimate zero, and numeric when there are values greater than or less than zero.

I would like to be able to create a Macro that convers these columns. I can call the macro through VFP to automate this for the client. To create the spreadsheet through VFP cell by cell takes _way_ too long (it's a very large set of data and speed to create the sheet is very important).
