>Is there a quick way to convert text data in cells to numeric? or How do I make a cell NULL? The spreadsheet gets created with a VFP COPY TO ...XLS command. Currently the fields in question are Character data types in VFP so they COPY TO EXCEL as text. I did this because the client wants empty cells (NULL) when there is no data and zeros when it is a legitimate zero, and numeric when there are values greater than or less than zero.

You could have the macro put a formula for each row in another column that you know is blank. The formula would be =A1(or whatever) + 0. The result of that formula is the same thing but a number. You could then have the macro cut the new column and paste special the values over the original. Hope it helps and sorry of the late reply.
