Search and kill *.??a (careful, just in case). .vca are the text versions of class libraries, .sca, of reports, etc. (I don't remember the extensions for menus and reports, but they have the format *.??a).

But no, these files shouldn't give you problems. Some other file must be R/O. The *.??a files are simply no longer required, if you don't use version control.

Version control is a powerful tool, BTW, even for a single programmer. Take a look at www.perforce.com; free for 1 or 2 developers. Requires a WinNT or Unix server.
