It is a great tool that compares dbcs and their table structures as well as the tags. It displays the differences color-coded in a treeview. I really like it. As a matter of fact, I like it enough to continue to modify it suit my needs. I've already added code to it to display the differrences in the treeview. I just have to add the code to display the actual differences in the cdx also. It does that now via color coding, but I like to see the actual differences between the two tables on each control. I was hoping someone had been using it and add the report ability already! I've looked at beyond compare as well as a few others. This so far is my favorite but just lacking the report capability.

>Tracy,
>I don't know DBF Compare. Does it compare table structures or the content of the tables? I'm using BeyondCompare (www.scootersoftware.com) for these kind of tasks. I've created a couple of IntelliSense macros and a couple of simple wrappers. If you're looking for table comparison, BC has a DataView plug-in which is excellent. Simply send the data to SDF files and launch BC.

>>>Hi everyone,
>>>I've been using the DBF Compare utility available in the download section. I made some modifications to it to show the actual differences in the treeview. I would like to add a report function also. I contacted Wouter, the developer, via email, but he has not worked with VFP for some time now. Has anyone else already added a report function to the dbf compare utility on their own? I'm willing to share my changes to the utility too if anyone is interested.
