Tracy,

Sounds very interesting. I haven't downloaded it. Since you made couple of changes, will you want to share them? Send it please to my work address.

Thanks in advance.

>It is a great tool that compares dbcs and their table structures as well as the tags. It displays the differences color-coded in a treeview. I really like it. As a matter of fact, I like it enough to continue to modify it suit my needs. I've already added code to it to display the differrences in the treeview. I just have to add the code to display the actual differences in the cdx also. It does that now via color coding, but I like to see the actual differences between the two tables on each control. I was hoping someone had been using it and add the report ability already! I've looked at beyond compare as well as a few others. This so far is my favorite but just lacking the report capability.

>>Tracy,
>>I don't know DBF Compare. Does it compare table structures or the content of the tables? I'm using BeyondCompare (www.scootersoftware.com) for these kind of tasks. I've created a couple of IntelliSense macros and a couple of simple wrappers. If you're looking for table comparison, BC has a DataView plug-in which is excellent. Simply send the data to SDF files and launch BC.

>>>Well, it doesn't look like anyone else has already done this, so I'll get started on it.

I would like to add a report function also. I contacted Wouter, the developer, via email, but he has not worked with VFP for some time now. Has anyone else already added a report function to the dbf compare utility on their own? I'm willing to share my changes to the utility too if anyone is interested.

If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
