Also, there could be code in a page Activate that is throwing it around. Oh, also check if you are setting the focus from a valid or click and then have code that runs after it. It can get confused there too.

Yeah, me too, but if the object isn't enabled at the time the activate fires then it will not stay there and move on to the next one in the order.
