When I uninstalled .NET Beta 2 - it did not go smoothly. I've decided that I want to reformat my c: drive - re-install XP, VS.Net and everything else to start fresh - not to mention having a 'clean' registry.

However, I can't get seem to dismount the volume. I get an access denied message. Even when trying to force a format with a dismount, I get a message saying that "format cannot be run because the volume is in use by another process. Format may run id this volume is dismounted first" When I select 'Y' to proceed, the volume does not get dismounted and the disk doesn't get reformatted.

My question is how do I successfully reformat my c: drive that is currently running Windows XP Professional?
